20/20 Hindsight is another project we "adopted" from a dysfunctional 'home'. The previous shop decided to
close down in the middle of the job, which left Jeff Lanier, world-renowned eye doctor, wondering how to get
his childhood dream car finished. Jeff is the eye doctor of another customer of ours, Professor Richard Tapia
(owner of the Heavy Metal Chevelle) and a recommendation was made for Jeff to interview us in regard to
finishing his project. We met, he and I spoke, and the rest is, as they say, history. This is a recreation of Jeff's teenage vehicle in which he delivered newspapers. We have learned a lot about Studebakers during our repaint/reassembly, as they are a unique species, ahead of their time in many ways. Jeff actually located
a BRAND NEW, in the crate Studebaker V-8, here in Texas no less, which we used as a foundation for the drivetrain. After a wiring job, a repaint, some interior work, brakes, steering, a custom a/c install, hidden
radio and the obligatory wide-whites, we have a time capsule that Jeff can enjoy for many years to come.
